E1 How to improve learning modules and curricula in the era of collaborative pedagogy?
E1: “Mobilising project research results in teaching – Invitation to use active learning techniques. The collaborative approach of the Erasmus+ RUR’UP Project
Objective : to exchange, learn and validate an innovative project-based approach for academic programmes.

The event main goal was to learn on How to improve learning modules and high education curricula in the era of collaborative pedagogy to experience transferable approaches in teaching or coaching contexts, focused on the need to promote research and project results. During the workshop, experts in innovative and active pedagogies presented some examples of active pedagogies that could be applied in learning and teaching context. Participants were taught and coached on those series of innovative activities and had the opportunity to experience and test several of those active learning techniques, while applying them to a course scenario designed collaboratively. Participants got really involved and were pleased to apply their new knowledge in real scenario on their courses and learning activities.

E2 RUR’UP National workshop on innovative education for sustainable development in peripheral rural areas.
Objective : to contribute to the knowledge flows and to strengthen links between university lecturers and practice.
More specifically, to:
- share and promote the innovative educational tools produced under the project and
- discuss them and receive feedback from peer lecturers from universities and agriculture vocational training centers as well as with professionals from peripheral regions from Bulgaria

The multiplier event under the RUR’UP project was an opportunity to meet face to face with partners and stakeholders from rural areas, to share the accumulated experience and to discuss the issues facing education and peripheral rural areas. The ME was originally planned for February 2022 during the AGRA Fair in Plovdiv, which is visited by most of the stakeholders. The initial organisation of the event was undergoing when in early February 2022 the number of Covid-19 cases had started to increase again. UNWE team had to cancel the event and postpone it to a later period. Meanwhile by the beginning of the summer, UNWE had to launch a new public procurement procedure for events organizations’, the contract for which was signed in early September 2022. The final date, 14 October 2022, was set after the extension of the project duration, which allowed the team to have sufficient time to inform and invite partners and stakeholders.

Objective: to strengthen the links between various institutes involved in higher education in peripheral rural areas and disseminate the range of resources developed during the RUR’UP project.

The multiplier event was a full day event, organized as part of the annual Burren Winterage Festival. As part of the festival each year, there is an annual learning and networking event, this year it was organised by Atlantic Technological University as the Multiplier Event for RUR’UP. It is for range of education professionals and stakeholders to strengthen links, disseminate findings and resources of RURUP and stimulate wider discussion on education for sustainable development in rural areas. The event focused on exploring challenges, gaps, and future trends in education for sustainable development in rural areas, with a range of participants from formal and informal education and training initiatives in Ireland.
The Burren Winterage attendees and event speakers typically include farmers, farm advisors, students, teachers, researchers, public authorities and policymakers from across Ireland and Europe – all with a shared interest in sustainable farming and rural development.
The multiplier event took place in Corofin, Co. Clare, Ireland. As with most of the Burren Winterage events, the ME was a non-profit event is hosted by the Burrenbeo Trust, the Burren Programme and is supported by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.

E4. Innovative education for sustainable development in peripheral rural areas. Challenges and new tools.
Objective: to be informed/trained during a minimum two hours conference about the online educational modules developed during this project.

The event targeted academic staff and students from universities and agricultural high schools from Transylvania, and agro-food players activating in the region. It took place at AGRARIA International Trade Fair, in Cluj county – the largest agricultural fair in Transylvania: The event was organized with the aim to inform about the online educational modules developed during RUR’UP project and motivate educators from Romania to use the innovative tools developed during the project. The event was also promoted during the AGRARIA event via official invitation to the fair, facebook page, radio announcements during the fair, promotion activities which have also attracted other stakeholders present at the fair.

E5 Innovative education for sustainable development in peripheral rural areas: Participatory approaches to elaborate learning modules
E5. How to develop collaborations and participatory approaches for the development of peripheral rural areas and sustainable farming practices? – Elaborating learning and training material – The RUR’UP Project approach.
Objective
- to present the collaborative work between academia and territorial development stakeholders for the elaboration of innovative learning modules
- to raise awareness of developing innovative education in peripheral rural areas, high nature value farming. It will highlight the training of future professionals on sustainable agriculture in alternative systems and specific needs coming from peripheral rural areas.

The second French Multiplier Event was organised on October 24th, 2022, under a webinar format. It gathered over 25 participants at regional, national, Mediterranean and International level and count on the participation of representatives from the four Helix innovation strategy: academia, including researching and training institutions; private sector and non-governmental organisations; public authorities and policy makers; civil society: and, future professionals aiming at contributing to the sustainable development of rural areas.
The main objective of the Event was to present the collaborative work carried out during the RUR’UP project between academia and local stakeholders for the elaboration of the RUR’UP learning modules and case studies and how the project contributed to adapt teaching material to a professional audience.

A rural conference “Innovative education for sustainable development in peripheral rural areas” was held in Osijek-Croatia as a day-long event at the Faculty of Agrobiotechnical Sciences Osijek on 1 June, 2022.
The conference brought together scientists/researchers from different organizations, representatives of advisory and administrative organizations, owners of agricultural farms, representatives of civil organizations, students and others.

Objective
- Acquaintance and familiarization of participants with the novel educational tools and innovative teaching methods produced by the project and interactive learning process.
- Identification of ways to implement new forms of co-operation that will help the necessary communication of innovative ideas and results of existing research in academia, bearing in mind the conditions in the areas targeted by RUR’UP.
- Explore possible utilization of the innovative tools produced during the course of the project for wider audiences.

The event targeted peers in academia, both from the fields of sustainability education and sustainable rural development, environmental educators in secondary education, Regional and Local Development agencies, environmental and agricultural authorities and NGOs. The event was organized at Mouzaki (Thessaly Greece) with the aim to a) inform about the novel educational tools developed during RUR’UP project, b) motivate educators from Greece to use the innovative tools developed and c) find out possible utilization of the innovative tools produced during the course of the project for wider audiences. It was an opportunity for dissemination of the project results related to a) the skills and competencies that graduates of these training activities have obtained and the gaps that they can fill in sustainable development in peripheral rural areas, and b) the results of the project to potential employers in these areas regarding graduates’ skills and abilities and the needs that they meet.
